MATT STOELLER BRAVELY STICKS HIS TONGUE OUT AT THE RIGHT

What Carroll said, by embracing the cause of our enemy, spoke volumes more than any statement she may have made either under duress or under the pressure from her handlers to extinguish criticism. Who sups with the devil must have a long spoon.

A FEW RANDOM THOUGHTS ON BLOGGING, THE MEDIA, AND HOW WE GOT OURSELVES INTO THIS MESS

See my comment above on the Carroll thing. I retract nothing. I evaluated Carroll from her actions rather than from her words. Words can be edited to suit the requirement of the moment, acts are engraved in time. No apologies from me. Throw Carroll back.

BAGHDAD AS IT IS, NOT AS WE WISH IT TO BE

At the worst, three nationa - an oil rich South, an oil rich Kurdistan and a piss-poor Baghdad. Were we to suggest that we would accept division, I suspect the people in the middle might think again the efficacy of still behaving like they run the show.

QUICK HITS (RATHER THAN THE USUAL BLATHER)

Carroll went to Iraq with the intention of working against U.S. interests. Her actions brought about the death of her translator and who knows how many hours of soldier time hunting for her. Her father urged her release because she was on their side, I say throw her back, she is just another Axis Sally. Making war against the Unite States should cost her citizenship.

DUBAI-BAI: IT'S ALL OVER BUT THE WHIMPERING

Got to agree with Hawkeye on this. Demand that congress examine foreign ownership of all critical industries, as well as deals like Loral that saw military secrets traded for campaign cash.
Remember, though, that if we deny others the right to invest their U.S. dollars in the U.S., the dollar will fall in value.

ABOUT THAT SLIPPERY SLOPE...

Generally when people say money is no object, they are not talking about their own money. The parents should learn to ventilate, buy or borrow the necessary equipment and take her home and care for her. Of course, their last take home didn't work out so well, but heck, blame the insurance company.

IRAQ: THE BULLWINKLE FACTOR

In a real war, the enemy will seek out your weak points to attack. The U.S. weak point has been the willingness of political opponents to scream for surrender whenever something bad happens, either to us or to the enemy. Tactics change to fit the situation, which is which is why no war can be won with some grand, unbeatable plan.

BACKLASH AGAINST THE BACKLASH

None of the information they will have could not be obtained for a lot less than billions of dollars. Any Longshoreman would volunteer it if he were assured it would damage Bush.
Besides, if they own it they may be less likely to break it.

MINE EYES HAVE SEEN THE GLORY

King helped sell more men into slavery than Lincoln freed, and he was not so much a leader as someone who saw the way the parade was marching and hurried out in front with his limo. His glorification demeans the many who made segregation uncomfortable, like me and a whole bunch of other wwhite folk who refused to accept a position superior to blacks.
